On the Amazon site it does not say that this tape is for European DVD players only but apparently that's what it is as it wont play on my DVD player. I understand that some DVDs wont play on a recorder but that isn't what I have. So, if you are ordering this DVD be sure to order from a U.S. company only.  Love lost........Could not view this DVD, February 10, 2013 This review is from: Golden Earrings [DVD] (DVD) I was very excited when I finally tracked down this classic. Upon reciept, to my surprise, I could not play it due what I just found out regarding regions. I ordered and paid for in good faith. Amazon unlike other sites, did not note anywhere at the time of purchase that it would not play in USA. So I just paid for nothing. Not happy with Amazon. Golden Earrings DVD?, January 15, 2013 This review is from: Golden Earrings [DVD] (DVD) Got this movie today. I was so disappointed that it didn't work in my Sony DVD player. So I tried it in my laptop and it worked. I don't understand why it doesn't work in my DVD player it shows ERROR when I pop it into the DVD. If anyone can tell me what I need to look for when I am buying my DVD's so I won't have this problem again I would be so happy. Anyway the reviews I saw on this movie were OK I kind of wondered if I should get it. But, I remembered liking it when I saw it years ago so I ordered it. Then came the DVD problems boo. When I was finally able to watch the movie I was totally pleased. I found it extremely entertaining and somewhat enchanting. Marlene Dietrich was a wonderful gypsy, greasy hands and all (first scene with her) and Ray Milland did a great job as the stuffy British agent turned gypsy.
