First let me point out that there are no directions with this feeder- so really it's best to follow the advice of others that have posted reviews as far as the best way to hang the feeder. I put the feeder up, put in some food, and waited. A few hours later we heard a crash! I was horrified that my brand new feeder had crashed down and shattered into a billion pieces. I should probably add that I live in a dormitory on the third floor with both grass and cement below us. I was very relieved to find the feeder still completely in tack...and was able to find the suction cups nearby as well. I then went back and found some of the reviews that suggest how to prepare the window and suctions cups so the feeder will stay in place. I washed the window very well, and washed the suction cups in warm soapy water. I let both air dry completely...
